What are the tuition and admission fees?

Admission fee: 200,000 yen

Tuition for the first and second years: 3 million yen per year. (Accommodation and meals are included.)

Tuition for the third year: 250,000 yen.

* In addition, a fee of 2.75 million yen (Tuition for Otago Polytechnic: 1.7 million yen, Home stay: 1.05 million yen) is required (based on projected figures for 2020)

* Travel costs for the year in New Zealand are not included.

Tuition for the fourth and fifth years: 1.6 million yen per year (apartment fees not included).

* Textbooks for the first- and second-year classes, a PC, a work jacket and sportswear are included in the tuition fees.

What is the deadline for payment of tuition fees for the school in New Zealand and the home stay fee?

The tuition fee for Otago Polytechnic and the home stay fee must be paid by the end of December of the student’s second year in a lump-sum payment.

If I leave the school in the middle of the program in New Zealand, will the tuition fee and home stay fee be refunded?

The home stay fee for the remaining period would be refunded, but the tuition fee would not be refunded.

What expenses are there other than tuition fees?

Additional fees (annual): Parent association fee: 20,400 yen, Student association fee: 9,600 yen, Alumni association fee: 6,000 yen

Are there any scholarships available?

A scholarship system is under consideration. Financial support for tuition fees is available for the first three years of upper secondary education from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT). The amount differs depending on the income of the student’s parents. See the MEXT website.
