Is there a school uniform?
There is no school uniform. The uniform for group activities or engineering and sport wear will be provided at entry.
Are there any facilities for athletics?
Hakusanroku Campus has athletic facilities such as a gymnasium, a training gym and a bouldering wall.
Where can I receive or send mail or parcels?
The school receives mail and parcels by delivery service and forwards them to the students. Students can mail parcels via the school office.
There is a hot spring bathing facility. Can students use it?
Yes. Each room in the residence has a shower, but not a bath. Students who choose to may use the hot spring bathing facility.
When can I move into the residence?
You can move into the residence after the dormitory entrance ceremony. You can move in your belongings before the ceremony (about 10 days before).
How are the rooms furnished?
Each private room is furnished with a bed, bedclothes, a desk, a chair and a curtain, and the room temperature is controlled by an air conditioner. Since the room is not equipped with a TV antenna, you cannot bring a TV. The shared living area has electrical appliances such as a TV, a refrigerator and a microwave oven. Please bring anything else that you need. However, you cannot bring anything to your room that requires installation work.
Are dorms divided into male and female dorms?
Dorms (or floors) are divided into male and female areas. Entrances/Exits are also divided by gender.
How do we do our laundry?
You can use the washing machines and dryers that are in the laundry area of each floor.
Can the meals in the residence be adapted for religious or allergy requirements?
Is it possible to have a midnight snack?
If I do not have a meal, is the fee refunded?
We believe that meals are an enjoyable part of life, but they are also very important for our health. We respond to dietary requirements due to religion or allergies through a survey and consultation with students before enrollment.
Three meals are served every day. Meal costs for the school period are included in the tuition fee; even if you skip a meal, the cost will not be refunded. Meals served during holidays must be reserved in advance, and their cost is not included in the tuition fee; you must pay for them separately. Meals cannot be cancelled once they have been reserved.

Are meal costs refunded when I do not need a meal?
The cost of meals served during the school period are included in the tuition fee, so even if you do not have a meal, you will not be refunded. Also, the cost of meals reserved for a holiday period will not be refunded if you do not have them.
What is the security system of the Hakusanroku Campus?
Every entrance requires card verification. No one can enter the buildings without a card key.
Do the teaching staff stay in the residence all day long?
Are there any nighttime security guards?
Teaching staff stay in the residence and maintain security 24 hours a day.
How are students who are feeling ill cared for in the dormitory?
During the day, the nurses stationed at Hakusanroku campus will examine and decide whether it is necessary to take the student to the closest hospital or clinic.
During the night, resident advisers, teachers living on campus, or security staff on duty 24 hours a day will attend to the situation and transport the student to a hospital if necessary.
Also, if a student needs to commute to a hospital or dentist, staff will transport the student with consideration to the timing and effect on schoolwork.
What about holidays such as summer and winter vacation?
Summer: Early August - late September
Winter: Late December - early January
Spring: Mid March - late March
Is staying out overnight permitted?
Staying out overnight is not permitted. Prior permission must be obtained for overnight leave due to unavoidable circumstances.
How do students spend their Saturdays, Sundays and holidays?
Can I enjoy shopping or leisure activities?
When there are no classes or school events, and you are not responsible for a project or have other obligations, you can spend your free time as you wish. The Hakusanroku Campus closes at 6:00pm. Students must be in the residence for roll call. There is a bus you can take to go to a shopping mall or a cinema, which runs once or twice a month. It is also possible to buy daily goods and snacks in the shop on campus, and to buy products through internet shopping.

How do students spend the long holidays such as the summer and winter holidays?
You can do extracurricular activities during the long holidays. Meals must be reserved for holiday periods, for an additional fee. Since extracurricular activities are held by unit during the summer holidays, you must adjust your private schedule according to the schedule of your unit. Since maintenance work is done during the summer holidays, you will have to stay in a specified room.
Is it possible for 1st- and 2nd-year students to commute to classes from home, or from a residence other than the dormitory?
All 1st- and 2nd-year students must reside in the Hakusanroku dormitories. It is not possible to commute to classes from elsewhere.
Is there lodging at Hakusanroku Campus where parents can stay?
The lodging facility is for education/research purposes only. As a general rule, it cannot be used for any other reason.
How shall I get to the Hakusanroku Campus?
The bus is the mode of public transportation for getting to the Hakusanroku Campus, and the nearest bus stop is “Sena”. Take a bus from JR Kanazawa Station to Sena through Tsurugi Station. It is a 45-min ride from Hakusan IC, a 70-min ride from Morimoto IC and a 60-min ride from Komatsu IC. Please contact the residence before coming.
Is it necessary to buy a laptop computer?
The school provides a laptop computer for each student.
If a student’s parents reside outside Japan, is it possible for the student to return to Japan and enroll at the school by himself/herself?
Yes, it is. Students will stay in the residence in their first and second years, live with a family when they study abroad in their third year, and live in an apartment near the university in their fourth and fifth years, like other university students.
