International College of Technology, Kanazawa is a completely new school devoted to the education of global innovators who can create value in a rapidly changing society.
Keywords that everyone has been attracting attention in recent years include Society 5.0 and SDGs. Society 5.0 refers to a society in which cyberspace (virtual space) and physical space (real space) are highly integrated to achieve both economic development and the resolution of social issues. Society 5.0 aims to create a new society following the hunting society (Society 1.0), agricultural society (Society 2.0), industrial society (Society 3.0) and information society (Society 4.0). On the other hand, the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) are based on the principle of "No one will be left behind" and consist of 17 goals and 169 targets agreed upon by the 193 countries of the United Nations. The goals are to be achieved by 2030. Our school is also focusing on education to understand Society 5.0 and SDGs, which are compulsory in the innovation era.
We focus on teaching the fundamentals of STEAM in collaboration with Kanazawa Institute of Technology, and developing good character and leadership through the world standard CDIO educational process. KIT’s science and engineering education is highly advanced; ICT collaborates with KIT to create a high-level educational system that produces new leaders for our future society.
As the students advance from year to year and move from campus to campus they can tackle increasingly complex challenges in each environment. In their first and second years, students stay at the fully residential Hakusanroku campus. Here they collaborate with the local community and industry surrounded by the beautiful nature of the Hakusan foothills, participating in programs focused on Society5.0 and SDGs.
Students will study abroad to the Otago Polytechnic in New Zealand in the 3rd year, and practice the technologies necessary for Society 5.0 through manufacturing such as AI, IoT, CAD, and 3D scanners at the Kanazawa Campus in the 4th and 5th years.
Some of the first batch of students of the Department of Science and Technology, who will graduate in March 2023, have gone on to university, while others have found employment both in Japan and abroad.
ICT admits students from throughout Japan and overseas, and provides an opportunity for students to grow in a stimulating global environment. The Hakusanroku Campus, New Zealand Campus and Kanazawa Campus are places where you can grow while receiving various stimuli.
We welcome you to join us in our quest to create new value for the world.
