Our Goal: Fostering "Global Innovators"
International College of Technology (ICT) and Kanazawa Institute of Technology (KIT) both strive to foster "Global Innovators." Global Innovators are individuals who not only possess advanced engineering skills, knowledge, and insight, but also use creative solutions and collaborate with others from various backgrounds, cultures, and values to create new value in a global society. As science and technology rapidly advances, the ability to conduct high level research, and experience in interdisciplinary studies and activities is a major advantage.
To promote such Global Innovators, we have created the "5+4" 9-year Integrated school system: five years at ICT + four years at KIT (undergraduate and graduate school).
Characteristics of our education
- Multiple opportunities to practice Design Thinking and the problem finding/analyzing process, and experience utilizing a wide variety of research data and techniques to solve problems in society.
- Cultivate minds to pursuit knowledge with others, critical and analytical thinking, and effective communication skills through discussion and debate in English.
- Strong emphasis on interaction with the local community. Various research projects on local society and natural environment. Nurture consciousness as a member of society through contribution to the local community.
- Integrated STEM education in English to develop scientific thinking.
- Concentrated experiences collaborating with people of different countries and cultures.
Students' learning environment will change over time to tackle more complicated problems. During their first and second year, students will study at our new Hakusanroku campus (boarding school). In their third year, all students will study abroad in New Zealand. Finally, they collaborate with university students of Kanazawa Institute of Technology in studies and research at our Kanazawa campus. Each stage's education is optimized to fully maximize the learning experience.
Department of Science and Technology
We established the Department of Science and Technology in 2018 to adjust to the rapidly changing world by providing a wide range of courses. ICT students gain fundamental knowledge from STEM courses, engineering skills and scientific thinking from our Engineering Design Education, and good character from various extracurricular programs. Our curriculum is based on world-standard CDIO to create engineers able to actively participate in a global society.
Hakusanroku campus (first- and second-year students / boarding school)
The first- and second-year students study at our Hakusanroku campus boarding school. Our teaching staff are diverse and student are given an optimal environment to practice their communication skills. In addition, there is the Learning Session (evening school) from 7:30 - 9:30 pm. Students, teachers, and staff live and work together to improve their English and skills as engineers.
