Admission Based on Self-Recommendation B (2 students)

* Please contact the Admissions Center before applying for Admission Based on Self-Recommendation.

* There is no written exam (Math or English) in the Admission Based on Self-Recommendation process. Please try the 2024 Admission Test Questions before applying to verify your own ability.

1. Eligibility

Individuals who correspond to any of the following 1 ~ 6:

* Foreign nationals are required to already have Japanese status of residence.

* To obtain a student visa for studying in NZ, students must acquire their passports by August 31, 2025.

  1. Individuals who have graduated from a Japanese junior high school or who are scheduled to graduate in March 2025
  2. Individuals who have graduated from a Japanese educational institution of compulsory education other than a junior high school or who are scheduled to graduate in March 2025
  3. Individuals who have completed the lower division of a Japanese 6-year secondary school or who are scheduled to complete it in March 2025
  4. Individuals who have completed nine years of formal education at educational institutions outside of Japan or who are scheduled to complete them by March 31, 2025
  5. Individuals who have completed an educational program provided by an educational institution outside of Japan which is recognized by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan as being equivalent to the education program of a Japanese junior high school or who are scheduled to complete in March 2025
  6. Individuals who have reached an appropriate age and have been determined to have an academic ability equal to or higher than that of a Japanese junior high school graduate

* Please select one of the examination dates and contact the ICT Admissions Center before applying.

* The online application registration deadline is 5:00 PM JST of the final day of the application period.

* Payment of the examination fee is due within three days after the date of registration, or by 11:00 PM JST of the final day of the application period, whichever is earlier.

* Application documents sent by mail should be postmarked on or before the final day of the application period.

3. Venue

Interview will be held via video call.

* Application information to be input includes: the examination venue, a statement of purpose, a self-recommendation, applicant information, and guardian information.

* Characters other than JIS Level 1 and 2 cannot be used. Please use substitute characters. Note: the Student Identification Card will use the name submitted here. Example: 髙松 → 高松  山﨑 → 山崎  Ⅲ(roman numeral) → 3(Arabic numeral) 

Statement of Purpose

Please explain the following in English (300 words or less) or Japanese (400 characters or less)

  1. "Reasons for applying for ICT."
  2. "What do you want to keep in mind while working in groups after you enter ICT?"

Self-Recommendation

Please explain the following in English (300 words or less) or Japanese (400 characters or less)

  1. "Explain why you are a good student for admission to ICT."
  2. "Describe your achievements in school studies, extra-curricular activities, community activities, etc."

* We recommend preparing and preserving your statements in advance using word processing software.
Data entry will shut down if there is no transmission for 60 minutes.

About Personal Information

Personal data (name, address, etc.) you submit will be used for the examination (application registration and examination), notification or results, admission procedures up to registration as a student, and for any other procedures the school may deem necessary for a smooth transition to school life. 
There are cases in which portions of the above-listed procedures are entrusted by ICT to third-party contractors. All or part of the personal data you submit will be entrusted to these third-party contractors. These third-party contractors are under contract to us to ensure maintenance of confidentiality of personal data, and we have taken steps to ensure that these contractors take appropriate measures to manage it.
Please note that we may notify the applicant's school of the examination results.

5. Examination Fee

Examination fee: 15,000 yen

After submitting application information, proceed to examination fee payment.
The examination fee is payable by credit card.
The following cards are accepted:

* The credit card holder and applicant do not have to be the same individual.

* A service fee of 481 yen (including tax) will be charged in addition to the examination fee.

* Examination fees cannot be refunded.

6. Application Documents

  1. Academic transcript (including a statement on the status of graduation, etc.)
    Prepared and sealed by the principal of the applicant’s current school, in either ICT transcript format or the format of the current school.
  2. Photo Certificate (use the form provided by ICT).
    * The photo should be 4 cm x 3 cm of the chest and head with no headgear, taken within the past three months.* The Student Identification Card will use the photo attached to the certificate.* Documents submitted will not be returned.* Send documents by registered express mail when sending from within Japan.
    Application documents may also be submitted directly to our school office. Reception hours are 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on weekdays and 9:00 am to noon on Saturday. (Closed on Sunday and holidays.)
    To mail from within Japan, attach the completed Address sheet to an envelope.
    To mail from oversea, use the international postal service EMS Express Mail Service.

7. Examination Certificate

The Examination Certificate will be attached to the email registered at the time of application.

8. Examination and Test Times

Examination Time Description
Interview 30 min/person Applicants answer questions on their reasons for applying to ICT, goals for the future, school life (study, dormitory life, study abroad, etc.), and academic progress.
* The interview will be carried out in Japanese.

* Test times will be set for each applicant.

* Interview will be held via video call.

9. Selection Method

Selection is based on comprehensive assessment of the interview (30 min/person), and application documents.
