From Saturday, June 7th to Thursday, June 19th, 2025, five high school students from Columbia, Missouri, USA, visited the Hakusanroku Campus. During their stay, they experienced dormitory life with ICT's 1st and 2nd year students, took part in classes and extracurricular activities, and joined various cultural programs including sightseeing in Kanazawa and a homestay in Hakusan City provided by the local government.

On Sunday, June 8th, fourteen 1st and 2nd year students from ICT volunteered as buddies and joined the students from Columbia City for a sightseeing trip in Kanazawa. They visited popular spots such as Kenrokuen Garden and Kanazawa Castle, and also experienced a traditional craft activity: Kaga Hachiman Okiagari Doll Painting Experience.

On Monday, June 9th, a welcome speech by President Masaaki Shikada and a special program by the faculty of the ICT were held.

From Monday, June 9th to Thursday, June 19th, students from Columbia City joined classes alongside students at the ICT. They experienced a variety of subjects such as Science and Engineering, English, and Health and Physical Education. Additionally, a special Japanese Language Class was held by 1st year students Purba Anthony Revetta and Priyapat Mebusaya, who are currently studying Japanese. The session included an introduction to Japanese used in school life, quizzes, and traditional Japanese games, creating a fun and interactive learning experience for everyone.

On Saturday, June 14th, the Hakusan International Exchange Association hosted an event titled “Welcoming High School Students from Columbia City, USA – Let’s Interact with American High School Students!” at the Hakusanroku Campus. Elementary and junior high school students from Hakusan City, along with 1st and 2nd year students from the ICT, participated in the event. The students from Columbia City gave self-introductions and presentations in English about the appeal of their hometown. Participants enjoyed interacting through quizzes and games. Following the presentations, everyone took part in a game of Fruit Basket and joined a campus tour led by ICT 1st and 2nd year students together with Columbia students. It was a memorable experience where participants overcame language barriers and enjoyed learning about each other’s cultures.

These two weeks provided the students of ICT with a valuable opportunity not only to use English, but also to experience different cultures and perspectives. The time spent together—including life in the dormitory—was a significant step toward deepening their understanding of other cultures.
