3年生 武田 洋子さんが「全国高等専門学校デザインコンペティション」で優秀賞を獲得、JADGA国際学生ポスターアワード2025で準入選
2025年9月19日（金）に発表された、「JADGA国際学生ポスターアワード2025」で、3年生武田 洋子さんが準入選を果たしました。さらに、2025年11月8日（土）、9日（日）に鯖江市嚮陽会館および鯖江市まなべの館で開催された「第22回 全国高等専門学校 デザインコンペティション」（デザコン）では、プレデザコン部門の創造デザイン・フィールドにおいて優秀賞（全国高等専門学校連合会会長賞）を受賞しました。武田さんは、ニュージーランドへの留学と並行して挑戦を続け、積極的にコンテストへ参加し、見事な成果を収めています。
「JADGA国際学生ポスターアワード2025」について
このコンペティションは、国内外の優れた若い才能の発見と顕彰、グラフィックデザインの新たな発展と進化を目指す目的で開催されました。今回のテーマは「Safe」、世界29の国と地域から2570人・3466 作品の応募があり、武田さんの作品が準入選しました。

武田さんにインタビュー：
テーマ「Safe」に対して、どのような作品を制作されましたか？
まず「safe」から連想できる単語やイメージを紙に書き出しました。さまざまな案が出ましたが、最終的には“心の安全”をテーマにポスターを作ることに決めました。ところが、その後アイデアが詰まってしまい、「Safe」という言葉がゲシュタルト崩壊するほど悩んでしまいました。そんな中、「ニュージーランドにいるし、ペンギンをモチーフにするのも良いのでは？」と思い、そこから制作を進めていきました。
制作の意図：良い睡眠は安全な環境から」。睡眠は、人間にとっても、動物にとっても、心と体を整える大切な時間です。このポスターでは、凍えるような寒さのなか、親ペンギンの愛情と温もりに守られて、子ペンギンがぐっすり眠る姿を描きました。安全で安心できる環境があるからこそ、本当にリラックスできる、というメッセージを込めています。
武田さんは準入選したことについて「過去の受賞者や入選者を見ても美大生が大半だったので、選ばれるとは思っていませんでした。今回は応募者が多かったということで準入選が設けられてそこに選ばれてとてもびっくりしたことを覚えています。またいろいろなデザイナーさんに作品を見てもらえて少しでもいいなと思ってもらえたことが何より嬉しかったです。来年は入選目指してもう一度チャレンジしてみようと思います。」と語りました。
「第22回 全国高等専門学校 デザインコンペティション」について
今回のプレデザコン部門・創造デザインフィールドのテーマは、2026年度に開催される函館大会（主幹校：函館工業高等専門学校）で使用するエコバッグのデザインをポスターで表現することでした。但しデザインは開催地である「函館」をイメージできるデザインに限られます。また、トートバックのカラーはアイボリーとし、デザインに使用できる色は1色までとされました。
和洋折衷ー函館
武田さんにインタビュー：
テーマ「函館」に対して、どのような作品を制作されましたか？
函館と聞いて最初に連想したのが五稜郭でした。去年見た名探偵コナンの映画の舞台が五稜郭で、印象に残っていたこともあり、星型がとてもかわいいと感じたので、その形をベースにデザインしました。 ただ、それだけでは他の人とアイデアが重なる可能性が高いと思い、函館名物のイカをモチーフとして取り入れ、ユーモアを加えました。さらに、函館について調べていくうちに、西洋文化が強く入り込んでいる街だと感じたので、全体の雰囲気を和洋折衷に寄せてデザインしています。また、投票で結果が決まる部門だったため、幅広い層に受け入れられるデザインを意識しました。
武田さんは優秀賞（全国高等専門学校連合会会長賞）を受賞したことについて、「来年のデザコンのトートバッグに採用されるまでには至りませんでしたが、優秀賞をいただくことができ、とても嬉しかったです。今回の経験は、自分にとって大きな励みになりました。」と語りました。
また、今回の挑戦と結果について、「これらのコンテストに参加したきっかけは、去年のイラストワークショップでイラストレーターの伊吹revさんに「作品はどんどん外に発信したほうがいい」とアドバイスをいただいたことでした。あの言葉がなければ、「デザインって楽しいな」と思っても、行動に移さないままだったと思います。また、ニュージーランドでは比較的自由な時間が多かったこともあり、今回応募してみました。結果として、準入選と優秀賞の両方をいただくことができ、とても嬉しかったです。またサポートしてくださった先生方に、改めて感謝しています。」と述べました。
HirokoTakeda, a 3rd year student, wins the Excellence Award at the National College of Technology Design Competition and earns Honorable Mention at the JADGA International Student Poster Award Contest 2025
On Friday, September 19th, 2025, Hiroko Takeda, a 3rd year student, received an Honorable Mention at the JADGA International Student Poster Award Contest 2025. Furthermore, on Saturday, November 8th, and Sunday, November 9th, she won the Excellence Award (President’s Award of the National Institute of Technology Association) in the Pre-Design Contest category, Creative Design Field at the 22nd National College of Technology Design Competition held at Kyoyo Kaikan and Manabe-no-Yakata in Sabae City.
About the JADGA International Student Poster Award Contest 2025
This competition was organized with the aim of discovering and honoring outstanding young talent both in Japan and abroad, while promoting new developments and innovations in graphic design. The theme for this year was “Safe”, and the event attracted 3,466 entries from 2,570 participants across 29 countries and regions worldwide. Among these, Hiroko’s work earned an Honorable Mention.
Interview with Hiroko:
Q: What kind of work did you create for the theme “Safe”?
First, I wrote down words and images that came to mind from the word “Safe.” I came up with various ideas, but in the end, I decided to create a poster with the theme of “emotional safety”. However, after that, I hit a creative block and agonized over the concept so much that the word “Safe” almost lost its meaning for me. Then I thought, “Since I’m in New Zealand, why not use penguins as a motif?” From there, I began developing the design.
Concept Behind the Work:
“Good sleep comes from a safe environment.” Sleep is an essential time for both humans and animals to restore their minds and bodies. In this poster, I depicted a baby penguin sleeping soundly, protected by the warmth and love of its parent in the freezing cold. The message is that true relaxation is only possible when there is a safe and secure environment.
On Receiving the Honorable Mention:
I honestly didn’t expect to be selected because most of the past winners and finalists were art school students. I was really surprised when I found out that an Honorable Mention category was added this year due to the large number of applicants, and that I was chosen for it. What made me happiest was that many designers saw my work and thought it was good. Next year, I’d like to challenge myself again and aim for a finalist spot.
About the 22nd National College of Technology Design Competition (Design Con)
The theme of the Pre-Design Contest, Creative Design Field, was to express in a poster the design of an eco-bag to be used at the Hakodate Tournament in 2026 (host school: National Institute of Technology, Hakodate College). The design needed to represent the image of Hakodate, the host city. In addition, the tote bag color was specified as ivory, and only one color could be used in the design.
Interview with Hiroko:
Q: What kind of work did you create for the theme “Hakodate”?
When I heard “Hakodate,” the first thing that came to mind was Goryokaku. I remembered that last year’s Detective Conan movie was set there, and the star-shaped fort left a strong impression on me. I thought the shape was really cute, so I based my design on it. However, I felt that using only that idea might overlap with others, so I incorporated Hakodate’s famous squid as a motif to add humor. As I researched more about Hakodate, I realized it’s a city deeply influenced by Western culture, so I designed the overall atmosphere to be a blend of Japanese and Western styles. Since this category would be decided by popular vote. I also aimed for a design that would appeal to a wide audience.
On Winning the Excellence Award (President’s Award of the National Institute of Technology Association):
Although my design wasn’t selected for next year’s Design Con tote bag, I was thrilled to receive the Excellence Award. This experience has been a great source of motivation for me.
On the Both of Challenge and Results:
The reason I participated in these contests goes back to advice I received at last year’s illustration workshop from illustrator Ibuki Rev, who told me, “You should keep sharing your work with the world.” Without those words, even though I thought design was fun, I probably wouldn’t have taken action. Also, since I had some free time while studying in New Zealand, I decided to apply. As a result, I was able to earn both an Honorable Mention and an Excellence Award, which makes me very happy. I’m also deeply grateful to the teachers who supported me.”
